Rodney A. Bourgeois Sr.

Rodney A. Bourgeois, Sr., age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at East Jefferson Medical Center in Metairie, LA. He was born on September 3, 1933, in New Orleans, LA. to the late Lucien Joseph and Hylda Gras Bourgeois. He was a 1951 graduate of St. Aloysius High School, and a 1955 (B.S. Engineering) and 1986 (M.S. Engineering) graduate of Tulane University. He worked as an engineer for Shell Oil Company until his retirement in 1992. Rodney was married to the late Barbara Keppel Bourgeois in 1955 and Claire Weilbaecher Bourgeois in 1975. He is survived by his wife, Claire, and four children: Rodney, Jr., Janine Tholen, Lisa Payne, and Lori Welker, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to St. Angela Merici Church, 835 Melody Drive, Metairie, LA 70002, for visitation at noon followed by a Memorial Mass at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, Masses preferred.
