Roger Allen Hunt Jr., "The Dodge", passed away on October 5, 2025. He was born in New Orleans on September 3, 1953. The Dodge was one of a kind! He lived life with a passion and loved every second of it. You could feel it when he was present. He made himself known; he spoke the truth, and he never left anything on his plate. He loved music, children, all his relatives, and was an avid pet lover to boot! He was the front man for the band “Roger Dodger and the Darts” for 7 years.
He worked at the Jefferson Parish Water Works prior to the USPS in Gretna, LA where he retired after 32+ years of service. He will be missed by all who knew him and treasured by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger Allen and Joan Lyeki Hunt.
He is survived by his son, Nicholas (Juliet) and two grandchildren, Desmond and Rosalie. He is also survived by his loving, life-partner of 35+ years, Cynthia Courage and her two sons, Brian and Andrew Knezeak; his sister, Rebecca (Michael) and their daughters, Stephanie and Michelle; his brother Randolph and his daughter, Alexandra as well as many loving relatives and extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. Metairie, Louisiana 70006 on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
