Ronald Gerard Kolwe

Mr. Ronald Gerard Kolwe, age 75, was called to his Eternal Home on Friday, September 13, 2013 after being surrounded by his friends and family. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie for the last 49 years. Beloved husband of the late Josephine Gomez Kolwe and adoring father of Cynthia Lachney Bulger (the late John R. Bulger, III) and Gwendolyn Cosentino Benintende. Amazing grandfather to Kenneth P. Lachney, Jr. (Courtney), Ashley Marie Cosentino and John R. Bulger, IV. Wonderful great-grandfather to Kenneth P. Lachney, III. Brother of Doris K. Portera (Sal), Anne K. Spaulding (the late George), Kathy K. Shields (the late Billy), and the late Frank Kolwe, Sr. (Sis), Marion Kolwe, John (Jack) Kolwe (JoAnn Fazio) and Evelyn K. Giroir (Frank). Son of the late Agnes Farrelly and Frank Kolwe. Brother-in-law to Mary G. Wagner (the late Carl) and Elizabeth G. Laiche (Jerry). Also survived by numerous and loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Kolwe graduated from De La Salle High School and was a retired Locomotive Railroad Engineer from Union Pacific Railroad. Mr. Kolwe devoted every second of his life to loving and nurturing his family. Relatives and friends of the family and his railroad brothers are invited to attend a celebration of his wonderful life on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 p.m. in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens on River Road in St. Rose, LA.
