Rosalie lived a life devoted to caring for others. A proud graduate of Charity Hospital School of Nursing in 1952, she dedicated 40 years of her life to nursing in obstetrics, helping bring countless new lives into the world. Her compassion, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication made her a beloved caregiver and colleague throughout her career.
Above all, Rosalie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. As the mother of eight children, she centered her life around family and took great joy in nurturing and supporting those she loved. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and lasting memories. Her life was a beautiful example of quiet strength, unwavering faith, peace, humility, and unconditional love.
She enjoyed many hobbies that reflected her curious mind and creative spirit. She loved painting, reading, working crossword puzzles, playing word games, completing jigsaw puzzles, and spending time playing cards with family and friends. In her younger years, she especially enjoyed square dancing and the friendships it brought into her life.
She is survived by her loving children, Jayne Aucoin Dominique, Cynthia Aucoin Phillips, Patricia Aucoin Couvillion, Albert A. Aucoin (Debbie), Deidre Aucoin Bensimon, Michelle Aucoin Stieffel (Frank), and Douglas L. Aucoin (Angela); 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; her 2 sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family members and a lifetime of friendships made.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Erby M. Aucoin Jr.; her son, Erby M. Aucoin Ill; her grandsons, Alan M. Dominique and Jason D. Ward; her sons-in-law, Michael Couvillion and Brian Phillips; her daughter-in-law, Janis Aucoin; her parents, Enos and Zelma Averett Tullier; her four brothers; and her only sister.
She will be remembered for her loving heart, her dedication to her family and profession, her quiet strength, and the kindness she shared with everyone she met. Her legacy lives on through the generations of family she cherished and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable 95 years. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday, August 7, 2026, at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, 10021 Jefferson Hwy, River Ridge, LA 70123. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a ceremony by the Nurses Honor Guard at 11:45 am followed by the Mass. Interment will take place in Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
