Rosalie Mazzola Guzzardi

Rosalie Mazzola Guzzardi, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 23, 2013. Mrs. Guzzardi was a native of Orange, TX and was a resident of River Ridge, LA since 1957. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Raymond Guzzardi, Sr. Mother of Catherine G. Volk (Peter), Donald J. Guzzardi (Bonnie) and Joseph “Joey” R. Guzzardi, Jr. (Jayme). Grandmother of Lesley Kay Volk, Donna Marie Guzzardi, Brian Michael Guzzardi, Ashley Guzzardi Brown (Doug) and Jordan Joseph Guzzardi. Great grandmother of Grayson Brown. Step grandmother of Eddison Billiot and Dylan Morales. Daughter of the late Benadito Mazzola, Sr. and Anna Lucia Mazzola. Sister of Mary Frances Bethard, Dorothy Gipson, Polly Albright and the late Johnny, Benny, Mike, Joe and Louis Mazzola, Bessie Claybar, Annie Blanda, Toni Herman and Genevieve Jeanis. Also loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Guzzardi was a registered nurse at Ochsner Hospital, retiring after 30 years of service. She was a graduate of St. Joseph College in Houston, TX and was a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Church and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will be in Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, Masses may be offered or memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
