Rosanna was born on October 5, 1959, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Charles and Elvine Ovella. She attended St. Catherine of Siena and Archbishop Chapelle High School before graduating from Seton Academy with the Class of 1977.
On September 1, 1978, Rosanna married the love of her life, John "Harold" Chauvin. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to a lifetime of love, devotion, and companionship. Above all else, Rosanna treasured her family. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren with her whole heart and took great joy in watching her family grow.
Rosanna had a gift for finding happiness in the simple things. She loved to laugh, and she could name almost any song that came on the radio. Music brought her joy, but the mountains were her true happy place. She loved traveling with Harold and taking in the beauty and peace of the mountains. Those moments of adventure, togetherness, and breathtaking views created some of her most treasured memories.
Rosanna's warmth, laughter, generosity, and love for her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. Her greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely and the memories she created with the people she cherished most.
She is survived by her beloved husband, John "Harold" Chauvin; daughter, Amanda Chauvin (Shane); son, Scott Chauvin (Heather); and her grandchildren, Landen, Isabella, Gabriel, Charlotte, Zachary, Naomhi Rosa, Malak, and Mallory. She is also survived by her sisters, Carolyn Ovella, Bonnie Boyer (Gerard), and Elsie Escude (Lonnie), as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Rosanna was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elvine Ovella, and her beloved granddaughter, Neydia Rose.
Though she will be deeply missed, Rosanna's family finds comfort knowing that her love lives on in each of them. May she now rest peacefully in heaven, surrounded by the beauty she loved so dearly—sitting beside her beloved Harold in spirit, listening to her favorite songs, and enjoying the breathtaking mountains of heaven.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Details will be announced when arrangements are finalized.
