Rose Marie Crapanzano

Rose Marie Crapanzano passed away on October 4, 2024, at the age of 89. Mrs. Crapanzano grew up in Hammond, Louisiana, and was a resident of her native Metairie, Louisiana, for more than 64 years. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Joseph Thomas Crapanzano, Sr., M.D. She was the loving and devoted mother of Joseph T. Crapanzano, Jr. (Kay), Diane Crapanzano Neumann (Ed), Mariann Crapanzano Ng (Chaan), John P. Crapanzano, and Peter B. Crapanzano (Cham). Mrs. Crapanzano was the grandmother of Ann Crapanzano Mora (Arthur), Elizabeth Crapanzano Perez (Paul), Mary Kathryn Crapanzano Gadara (Roco), Joseph T. Crapanzano III, Julie Neumann, Matthew Neumann (Lin), Laura Neumann, Michelle Neumann Landry (André), and Michael Neumann (Cameron). She also had fourteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Crapanzano was born to the late Florence and Ralph Peco of Hammond and was the sister of the late Marion Peco and the late Peter Peco, also of Hammond.

Marriage and family were Mrs. Crapanzano’s vocation. She adored her husband and delighted in her children and grandchildren. She was generous of heart and quick to laugh, bringing light and joy to those around her. Mrs. Crapanzano lived her Catholic faith without reserve. She met life’s challenges with grace and dignity and was a model of trust and courage.

Visitation will be at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Avenue, Metairie, Louisiana, on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral Mass will immediately follow at the church at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana.
