Born on June 11, 1940, in Caibarién, Cuba, to Jaime Llull and Luisa Llull Muñoz, Mr. Llull arrived in the United States as a young man and built a life marked by discipline, business acumen and an unforgettable gift for storytelling. Known to friends simply as San, he cultivated a reputation that was by turns charismatic, generous and unabashedly self-assured - he often jokingly referred to himself as a “stud.”
Friends recall him as a “one of a kind”, a man whose presence could fill a room and whose enthusiasm was contagious. In his professional career in New Orleans, he earned a reputation as larger than life, not only for his expertise but for his gift with people. Colleagues both young and old loved him dearly.
He shared countless adventures with his wife, Carol Duplantier Llull, the true love of his life and devoted companion. Their partnership was a monument to undying love. Mr. Llull is survived by his children and their families, Stephanie Jeanfreau (Mike), Jennifer Ledet (Brian), and Christian Llull (Lindsay); and three grandchildren (Christine, Michael, and Olivia). He is also survived by his sister Maria Nogueira (Juan Carlos) and his brother Carlos Llull (Luz). He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sisters Carmen Llull and Luisa Cazabon.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 9 to 11 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie, LA. Interment will be in All Saints Mausoleum located in Metairie Cemetery in New Orleans.
The family kindly requests that donations in his memory be directed to St. Tammany Hospice, 101 Ashland Way, Suite 2, Madisonville, LA 70447 or www.sthfoundation.org/donate.
