

Seong Alvin Gee (Sonny), age 83, of Metairie, passed away in the presence of family and close friends on May 7, 2023. He was born May 17, 1939, to Lin Seong Gee and Florence Ford Gee. He served in the U. S. Army during the Cuban Crisis. He marched in the funeral procession of President John F. Kennedy, and he was the Administrative Aide to General Charles Mc Gruder. He worked over 30 years at United China and Glass Company and retired as the Administrative Manager of the Royal Orleans division. After retirement he also worked for a time at Coliseum House, East Lake Hospital and River Oaks Hospital. He was an excellent dancer, enjoyed his Bombay martinis, estate sales, gourmet cooking and gardening. He was especially proud of his aquatic gardens. He cared for and helped many people. He was preceded in death by parents and brothers Richard and Ellis Gee. He is survived by his devoted companion, Tedd Hallam, sisters Shirley Gee Littlejohn (Frank), Florence Lynn Gee, Faith Gee, brothers Gerald and Keith Gee (Peggy). He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to express their appreciation to Becky Cieutat, Dottie Watson and her children and grandchildren, Ed and Lucy Freytag, Christy Migaud, Ken Johnson, Susan Johnson and Paula Vezinet for their steadfast friendship. Visitation will be at 8:30 a.m. and funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
