Sherrol Johnson Gaspard

August 15, 1942 – October 12, 2025
Obituary of Sherrol Johnson Gaspard
IN THE CARE OF

Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home

Sherrol Johnson Gaspard passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving children. She now joins her beloved husband, Earl Benedict Gaspard, Jr., and her parents, Owen and Mary Johnson, in heaven.

Sherrol was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and Nana whose life was centered around faith, family, and love. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy and LSUNO.

She is survived by her children: Patrick Gaspard (Stephanie), Scott Gaspard (Maria), and Robyn Gaspard Carlini (Steven).

She was the proud and loving grandmother of: Caroline Gaspard Kopit, Sydney Carlini, Andrew Carlini, Owen Gaspard, Ashley Gaspard, Sophia Carlini, and Luke Gaspard, and great-grandmother to Bennett Kopit.

Sherrol and Earl shared a beautiful life. Over the years, they went on many trips, made lasting memories, and deeply enjoyed their time with family. Since Earl’s passing 18 years ago, Sherrol missed him every single day. Their love was a constant presence in her life—a quiet strength that carried her through.

Sherrol found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—being a homemaker, raising her children, and creating a warm and welcoming home. She loved reading, watching movies, walking her dog, and laughing with her family. As the years passed, Sherrol’s sense of humor only grew—her laugh was infectious, and her presence lit up every room.

A private burial will be held at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 on 3421 Esplanade Avenue in New Orleans, in accordance with her wishes.

Sherrol will be remembered always for her warmth, strength, humor, and the deep love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
