

Sherryl Zarza Billot of New Orleans, LA, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the age of 61. She was a caring mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a world traveler and Christ follower. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Orleans, she later received a Master of Pastoral Studies at Loyola University New Orleans. While a Chaplain at Ochsner Baptist New Orleans, she obtained a Master of Social Work at Tulane University and became a Licensed Social Worker. At Ochsner Baptist, she touched thousands of lives and was instrumental in the formation of the Respectful Burial program for people without means. She will be greatly missed. Sherryl was born on March 9, 1961 and was the daughter of Carolyn Santa Cruz Adkins and the late Oscar Ray Adkins. She was also predeceased by her husband, Hans P. Billot, and her son, Jason Billot. She is survived by two other sons, Hans Billot (Adrian) and Justin Billot (Andrea), and her grandson, Dominic Billot. She is also survived by her mother, Carolyn, her sister, Susan Merrell, her aunt, Toni Beaudoin (James) and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am. Interment will be private at a later date.
