Shirley Reach Eagan

Shirley Reach Eagan, age 90, passed away quietly at home on Friday, June 20, 2014. Mrs. Eagan was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA since the 1960’s. Beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Eagan. Mother of Shelley Eagan-Smith (J.C.) and Sharon Eagan Reuter. Grandmother of Jaime Reuter Knowlton (Luke) and the late Arthur Schellhaas. Sister of Mertis Reach Neuburger (Harold). Daughter of the late Henry John Reach and Rose Centanni Reach. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Eagan was a retired administrative secretary for Lakeside Theaters, Inc., was a former member of the Civil Air Patrol, the WOMPI and was a parishioner of St. Ann Church. During a reality trip to the emergency room, Mrs. Eagan decided she wanted written on her tombstone “She had a good life but in the end she was pissed”. Mama was a wonderful wife, terrific mom and an even better friend. She will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Ann Church, 3601 Transcontinental Drive in Metairie, LA on Thursday, June 26, 2014 beginning at 10:30 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 12:30 PM.
