Sonya C. Allday "Maw Maw"

Sonya C. Allday, passed away on August 14, 2019. After a long battle with cancer, she passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones in her home. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Christin Allday, and her sister Renee. She is survived by her brother, Donald Armes, children, Chasity Allday, Chelsea Allday, and Artie Allday, her beloved fiancé' Ronald Surmik, Jr., numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was a longtime mother and grandmother that would move mountains for her babies. She loved to work in her garden, putting puzzles together with her grandchildren, listening to country music, cheering for the Saints, and was always involved with her grandchildren's school and sporting activities. Miss Sonya was a mother to all the kids growing up, always known as the cool, fun mom and friend, but she wasn't afraid to tell you like it was. Sonya also enjoyed spending time with Ronnie and all of her friends making great memories together. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana.
