Caring companion of Mary Helen Haindle.

Loving father of Stanley Grzych Jr. (and wife, Judy), Daniel Grzych (and wife, Noel) and Barry Grzych.

Devoted grandfather of Stephanie Morton (and husband, Phil), Todd Grzych (and wife, Kari), Jason Grzych, Timothy Grzych, Brad Grzych (and wife, Jana) and Brandi Favaza (and husband, Timmy).

Proud great-grandfather of Jared, Adrianna and Mallory Morton, Ray and Sam Favaza, Caylan Sinclair, Piper, Knox, Braiden and Ruth Grzych.

Son of the late Felix and Anna Cynar Grzych.

Brother of Joe Grzych (and wife, Connie) and Henry Grzych.

Preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters and is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Grzych was a United States Coast Guard WWII Veteran, was stationed in Algiers, Louisiana during the war where he trained many young men before they left to go overseas and after meeting his beloved Lydia, they married and he made New Orleans, Louisiana his home. He then became employed with the United States Postal Service and after 32 years of service retired in 1977 as an Assistant Training Officer.

He was past Commander and Chaplain of the Loo-Wag-Ran American Legion Post # 285, Grande Voiture de Louisiane in the 40&8 Organization member of Voiture 108, AARP,( where for many years, he taught Safe Driving Classes to seniors), Kings Daughters and Sons and Jackson Ave. Evangelical Congregation. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Aged 91 years, a native of Detroit, Michigan and a resident of New Orleans.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service from Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel 4747 Veterans Blvd. Metairie, Louisiana on Thursday afternoon February 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.

Interment in Lafayette Cemetery #2.

Friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
