Susie Walker Harmeyer

resident of Thomas County, Georgia, and an inhabitant of Metairie, Louisiana for the past 46 years. She

was the beloved wife of the late William Joseph Harmeyer. She is survived by daughters, Patricia Cone and

Mary H. Netzhammer, both of Metairie, Louisiana; grandchildren, Emily Netzhammer Nick (Vincent Nick)

and Aaron J. Netzhammer; great-grandson Enzo Nick and numerous nieces and nephews. She is the

daughter of the late John Aaron (Babe) Walker and the late Mary Ann Sowell (Polly) Walker. She was

preceded in death by her sister, Lois Walker Young and her brother, John William (Dub) Walker. She will

be missed by all her loving family and friends.

Susie was very active in life, being involved in many organizations. She was a licensed beautician in the

state of Georgia, past president of the Homemakers Club, Beaux and Bells carnival Club, troupe leader

for the Girl Scouts of America, member of the St. Edward the Confessor Hilltoppers, East Jefferson

Health and Fitness Center, and the Holy Family Community of Lay Carmelites.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Edward the Confessor

Catholic Church, 4921 West Metairie Ave. in Metairie on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
