Sybil Miley Costello of Metairie, LA passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, at home with her family after a second battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Carmon, daughter Jennifer (Clay), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is proceeded in death by her parents Herman Miley and Nettie May Folks, plus two sisters Bobby Magee (Lavoy) and Von Webb (Garland).
Sybil was born in Franklinton, LA on January 31, 1942. She worked for the Louisiana Department of Revenue at the Capital Annex in Baton Rouge in her early career days and later devoted many hours to volunteering at different places. She was an avid gardener and loved watching the honeybees and butterflies in her backyard.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday February 7th from 1-4pm at Leitz Eagan Funeral Home at 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, LA 70006. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Tunnel to Towers https://t2t.org/donate/.
