Sybil Pritchett Laux was granted her angel wings at her home on January 12, 2022, at the age of 84. Her final days were spent with the love of her family surrounding her. She was born and raised in Stonewall, MS, she moved to New Orleans as a young adult and became a longtime resident. She was the owner of Sybil’s Place in uptown New Orleans, where everyone she knew was a friend. Anyone who knew Sybil was touched by her kindness, humor, generosity, and willingness to help others. She loved to surround herself with family and friends, she was a loving and caring woman. She always had a sense of humor and was sure to bring laughter to family gatherings. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Laux Ehrlicher, and son, Art Laux. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ronnie Marx (Lauren), Ryan Ehrlicher (Ashley), Jason Ehrlicher, and Rachel, Rebecca, Alexa, and Claudia Laux, and two great grandchildren, Tris and Tailey Marx, as well as her close friend, Jerry Norris, and nieces and nephews. Sybil is preceded in death by her longtime companion, Richard “Jack” Bottorf, her parents, Grover Pritchett and Claudia Pryor, and her siblings Geraldine, Peggy, Patsy, Thurman, Houston, Butch, and Richard.
Sybil will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lived and loved life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. No services will be held, in honor of Sybil (Nana) please take a moment to remember something special about her and celebrate her life.
