Terrance “Terry” J. Merna, age 56, went home to be with the Lord on his birthday, May 9, 2014. Terry was a native of Philadelphia, PA and a resident of Metairie, LA for 36 years. Beloved husband of Michelle Merna for 20 years. Father of Cody Merna, Dylan Merna, Jason Runnels, Melissa Runnels and Zachary Runnels. Also survived by brothers, sisters, grandchildren, aunts and uncles. Terry was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from Avondale Shipyard. He enjoyed reading, music, the outdoors, was an excellent handyman. He was very loving, kindhearted, generous and was very devoted to his family. Terry was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
