

Terry Joseph Dauzat entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the age of 85. He was born on September 2, 1940, in Hessmer, LA. He and his family moved to New Orleans when he was 15 years old. Terry graduated from Warren Easton High School where he was a member of the football team. Everyone who knew Terry loved being around him. He was always the life of the party and had the most amazing stories to share. He was an avid sports fan. He loved the New York Yankees and the New Orleans Pelicans; but we all know the way he loved the New Orleans Saints. Terry jokingly said one of the best days of his life, besides his wedding day and the birth of his daughter and grandchildren, was when the Saints won the Superbowl. Terry retired from United Parcel Service (UPS) in 2005 after 30 years of service. He was a parishioner of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Metairie, LA.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Lanon J. Dauzat and Ola Mayeaux Dauzat; his sister, Juanita Dauzat-Lemoine; and his brother, Ronald Dauzat.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Alice H. Dauzat; his daughter, Tracy Dauzat-Rolfes (Mark); two grandchildren, Faith Marie Rolfes and Matthew Mark Rolfes; his brothers, Tubin Dauzat (Joyce) and Sylman Dauzat (Viola); and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
