

Theo Marcus Heller died at his residence on Thursday, April 15, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Danigole Heller. His four beloved children are Elizabeth McMillion of Baltimore, MD, Mark Heller and his wife Lisa of New Orleans, LA, Nancy Skochdopole and her husband Jim of Dallas, TX and Ellen Cohen and her husband Max of New Orleans, LA. He is the brother of Edward M. Heller and wife Sandy of New Orleans, LA and a son of the late Mildred Harris Heller and Isaac S. Heller. He is survived by seven grandchildren, Sharon Pindell of Baltimore, MD, Becky and Maddie Heller of New Orleans, LA, Kate and Ellie Skochdopole of Dallas, TX and John and Annie Cohen of New Orleans, LA. He has three great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mr. Heller was president of a division of the Oreck Corporation, Oreck Merchandising LLC. He was formerly president of the planning commission of the United Way of the Greater New Orleans Region, and the executive vice president of Congregation Temple Sinai. He has been treasurer of the Jewish Community Center and a vice president and board member of many other local non-profit entities. He was an avid fisherman, tennis player, traveler and reader who will be greatly missed by his beloved family.
A Memorial Service will take place at Temple Sinai, 6227 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 12:00 Noon with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Rabbi Edward Paul Cohn will officiate. Private interment. Kindly omit flowers. Memorials to Metairie Park Country Day School or Temple Sinai preferred.
