Thomas Michael O’Connor, Jr., affectionately known as “T” and “Tommy” was born on July 19, 1956 and passed away on May 21, 2016. Beloved son of Marilyn Hauck O’Connor and the late Thomas O’Connor, Sr. Much loved brother to Susan O’Connor Hirschmann (Don) and Al O’Connor (Kelley Holly). Uncle to Januarie Morrison (Peter), Alanna Traylor (Matt), Krystal, Kasey, Robert and Ralph Hirschmann. Godfather to Alanna, Robbie and Jacob. Loved by aunts, uncles, many cousins, neighbors and friends. Loyal friend to Buzzard, Laurence, Russell and many others. Grandson of the late Florence and Walter O’Connor and the late Frances and Al Hauck. “T” retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 406. He enjoyed life to the fullest, eating out, and spending time at the lake with his buddies and his pet, Lady. Tommy was a good person who enjoyed helping others and will be greatly missed by many. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Saturday, May 28, 2016 beginning at 11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
