Van Alan Meador, Sr. ascended into heaven peacefully on Monday February 15, 2021 at age 79. He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar Ellis Meador and Katherine Williams Meador. Born in 1941 in Cleveland, MS, Van and his family lived in California before moving to New Orleans, and retiring in 2005 to Winter Haven, FL with his wife. Van is survived by his loving wife Frances Meador, his wonderful children Dana Stratton and Van Meador, Jr.(Marcelle), his beloved grandchildren Alesha and Jeffrey Stratton, his sister Beverly Miller, and his niece and nephew Amy Ramsey and Kelly Miller. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and love for his family, classic cars, and playing golf. All who knew him had nothing but kind words to say about him. He was truly a great husband, father, and trusted friend to so many. After a private celebration of life locally, he will reside in the hearts of those who knew and loved him eternally. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you kindly donate to the American Cancer Society.
