Verna was a graduate of McMain High School. She participated in running many political campaigns; including the beloved former JP Sheriff Harry Lee and Congresswoman Lindy Boggs. Verna was a longtime parishioner of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to the Harahan Senior Center to visit with friends and often to play a game of cards. She always loved to be on the go, any excuse to get out the house and seize the day. She always enjoyed traveling, she even won a trip to Hawaii for her dancing. She liked to go to the parades, taking street car rides and watching Jeopardy. Verna was the life of the party; she would make sure to make an appearance at every family event. She loved to host Christmas Eve every year and the door was always open to everybody. Family meant the world to her. She loved dancing; from line dancing to ballroom dancing and everything in between. Verna is surely dancing on streets of gold now.
