

Vernon Arnold Greene passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday morning, August 22, 2017. He was 58 years old. “Knight in Shining Armor” to Debbi Keller Greene of 38 years. Dedicated father to Keith Greene and Jeremi Greene. Son of George and Sarah Cooksey Greene. Brother of Karen Murphy-Ziller, George S. Greene, Ernest Greene (Denise), Thomas Greene, Terry Greene, and Gary Greene. Vernon was originally from Lake City, Florida (Gator Nation), and was an avid fan of the Florida Gators. He was the past president of Millwright Local 1931 and was employed by Cornerstone Chemical as a millwright and crane operator for the past 20 years, working alongside many kindhearted friends and coworkers. He loved his big toys, fishing, and dinner with friends. His selfless and generous nature was a true blessing to others. When someone was in need, he would “do what you have to do”, and became affectionately known as “Sugar Daddy”. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Karen T. Stall Research & Breast Institute are preferred. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Saturday afternoon, September 2, 2017 at 1:00.
