Viola Y. Hushfield, age 76, went home to Glory on Friday, April 27, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents, the late William F. Young and Carrie Hano Young and her late husbands Charles A. Walden and Victor G. Hushfield. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she resided for over 70 years and then Metairie, Louisiana for the past 6 years.
She was preceded in death by her brothers; James Young, Frederick Young, and sister; Barbara Mizzell. She is survived by her four loving children; Charles D. Walden (Linda), Donna H. Ponseti (Darin), Katherine H. Asberry (Wesley), and Lisa H. Land (Clifford), six grandchildren; Leslie, Rebecca, Jason, Jessica, Joshua and Charles, 10 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She worked at R&O Restaurant for 20 + years and Rouses Supermarket for 12 years. She was a devoted member of Soldier’s Angels where she passionately crocheted blankets for the military soldiers, locally and abroad. She was a member of Celebration Church. She enjoyed being together with her children. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Visitation celebrating her life at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana on Saturday, May 05, 2018 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am.
