Virginia Ann "Bunny" Brooks, age 61, passed away from respiratory failure on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in the loving company of her sisters and brother at East Jefferson Hospital in Metairie, LA.

Virginia was the beloved daughter of the late Charles Lorin Brooks of Ann Arbor, Michigan and the late Grace O'Hara Brooks of New York City and the sister of the late Charles T. Brooks (Charlene) of Metairie, LA. Virginia is survived by her loving siblings, Jeanne-Lorin Brooks Siu (Albert) of Stockton, CA, Paula Brooks Watson (Robert) of Washington, D.C., and her twin brother, Richard E. Brooks (Patti) of Powder Springs, GA. She was the loving aunt of Charles T. Brooks (Corey), Gregory A. Brooks, Michael W. Kincaid (Michelle), Joy Siu Cazares

(Joel), Grace L. Siu, Brooks G. Watson, Matthew J. Alberti (Nicole), and Richard H. Brooks. She had many grand-nephews and grand-nieces.

A life-long native New Orleanian, Virginia graduated from Tulane University.

Virginia was a devoted daughter, beloved sister, and extraordinary friend. Her lifelong passions were family, friends, travelling, the New Orleans Saints, volunteering, and her furry poodle babies, Bella Grace and Lumpkin. Virginia loved working for Dr. Alan Davis, Associate V.P. at Tulane University and The Louisiana Special Olympics. Virginia also volunteered for Special Olympics Summer Games, United Way, and New Orleans AIDS Task Force. Virginia was a lifetime Member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society, Deutches Haus, and East Jefferson Business Association.

A private service and internment has been held in her memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Louisiana Special Olympics.

Special thanks go to the brilliant and compassionate nurses and doctors of East Jefferson Hospital for their outstanding care.
