Virginia Marie Lampo passed away peacefully amongst family in her daughter’s home on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the age of 89. “Virgie” was born in the French Quarter and was a lifelong resident of Old Metairie. Beloved wife of the late Bernard Lawrence Lampo, Sr. Devoted mother of Bernard “Benny” Lampo, Jr. and Deborah Bradley (late, Bill). Loving grandmother of Ben Lampo (Heather), Jeremy Lampo (Mitzi) and Emily Bradley Traylor (Jason). Great grandmother to Hannah, Haley and Kate Lampo and Brayden Traylor. Sister of Alice Conte, the late Edmond Blereau and the late Victor Blereau. She is also survived by her lifelong friends Elizabeth Vanderwall and Mary Rosato. Also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Virgie was an avid Saints fan. She was a member of the Metairie Jolly Bunch for over sixty years. She loved being around family and friends, especially during the holidays.
The family would like to give special thanks to Canon Hospice for providing great comfort to Virginia and her family, especially Dr. Persich, Brandi, Mica (“T”), Chaplain Hodges and Juliette.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in LakeLawn Mausoleum.
