Warren J Nee

Warren Jerald Nee, age 91, died on Wednesday, November 28, 2012. He is survived by his children: Kathleen Nee Benfield (Glenn), Michael Nee (Carolyn), and Jerry Nee (Kelly); grandchildren: Elizabeth Parrino (Sal); Thomas (Jennifer), Patrick, Casey, and Mickella Nee and great-grandchildren: Clare and Mia Parrino and Liam Nee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Roser Nee, and his parents, Clare Casey Nee and John Nee.

Mr. Nee served in the United States Navy on the ammunition ship U.S.S. Lassen in the Pacific during World War II. He started his 40 year railroad career as a machinist with the Illinois Central and retired from Amtrak as Superintendent of Locomotives in 1984. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Church and a resident of River Ridge for 63 years.

Warren Nee was a sweet and generous man who served his family and his country with honor and integrity. He will be greatly missed.

The family is grateful to his caregivers: Dr. Robert McCord, Benita, Debbie, June, Sandy, Chekaris and Keisha.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service to be held Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations made in memory of Warren Nee to St. Joseph Indian School, Chamberlain, SD or your favorite charity.
