Wayne Joseph Pigford

Wayne Joseph Pigford went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 25, 2013. He was born December 6, 1944 in New Orleans, LA and has been a resident of Kenner, LA for the past 34 years. Beloved husband of Cynthia Greer Pigford. Father of Wayne (wife, Paula), Angela, Kevin (wife, Dennie) and Darren Pigford. Grandfather of Anthony, Kevin and Kade Pigford. Brother of David Pigford (wife, Thelma) and the late Brandt Pigford. Son of the late Elodie and David Pigford. Mr. Pigford retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 31 years of employment. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War and was a parishioner of Divine Mercy Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Thursday morning, January 31, 2013 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Pigford’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Canon Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion. So sorry to hear about Wayne. A boy I will never forget and was so proud of his service to our country during the Vietnam War. He was a sweet soul, and will be missed. He is now safe in the arms of the Father. My prayers for his family.

So sorry to hear about Wayne. Many great memories of him at the Guggenhiem house. All of us around the large dinner table enjoying Sunday dinner.
