

William L. “Bill” Barattini passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at 12:23 pm. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn Barattini and father of Patrice Barattini. Devoted companion of June Clesi and father of Michael Barattini. “Bill” was like a step-father to William, Salvadore, Stephanie and Nicole Lawler. Brother of Louis Barattini, Jr. Son of the late Nora Breaux and Louis Barattini, Sr. Proud grandfather of Brooke and Britney Barattini. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The family would like to extend a very special “Thank You” to his caregiver, Sandra Gomez. Mr. Barattini was a graduate of St. Aloyoucis High School, started his musical career at the early age of 13, played with many now famous New Orleans musicians such as Pete Fountain and the Duke’s of Dixieland, a retired Real Estate Broker, longtime owner of The Steinway Lounge in Metairie, built and owned Eureka Square, a member of The Mayor’s Posse, a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church and will be loved and missed by all who knew him. In the early 60’s “Bill” ran a spirited run for mayor of Kenner, La., was the owner of a small ranch of 237 acres, located between Old Military Rd. and Folsom, La., with his ever present love of horses, especially his spirited palamino, “Silver”. Aged 80 years. A native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Metairie, La. for the past 44 years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services from Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, on Friday morning, July 16, 2010 at 11:00 am.
