Wilmer Paul Boudreaux, 89, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 after a brief and sudden illness. He was born in Thibodaux, LA but lived his whole life in New Orleans before moving to Metairie in 1966. He was a proud graduate of Redemptorist High School Class of 1956. He was a parishioner of St. Philip Neri Church.
Wilmer was an avid sports fan. He loved watching the Saints on Sunday, but no team could take the place of his beloved New York Giants, along with the LA Dodgers and Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. He enjoyed his morning cup of coffee with his brother-in-law Emery and loved going out to eat with his friends, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Wilmer is survived by his three children: Ellen Brechtel (Chuck), Terry Boudreaux (Darcie) and Beth Hebbler (Ryan); six grandchildren: Megan Costa, Elizabeth Johnson, Matthew Boudreaux, Riley Boudreaux, Brady Hebbler and Abby Hebbler; four great grandchildren: Colette Costa, Lorelai Johnson, Charlotte Costa and Cate Costa; one brother, Paul Boudreaux Jr. (Charlotte) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Carol Ann Boudreaux, his parents, Paul and Anna Mae Boudreaux, and his brother, Winston Boudreaux (Jackie).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006 on Monday July 20, 2026 beginning at 12:00 noon with a Funeral Mass to follow at 2:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will be in All Saints Mausoleum at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Philip Neri Church.
