Wilson "Bill" J. Molero, Jr.

June 14, 1946 – January 4, 2021
Obituary of Wilson "Bill" J. Molero, Jr.
IN THE CARE OF

Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home

Wilson Joseph “Bill” Molero, Jr. passed away on January 4th 2021 at the age of 74, surrounded by his family. Bill was born on June 14th 1946 to Wilson Joseph Molero, Sr. and Annie Cecilia Webber. He grew up in Chalmette, LA, and spent his youth hunting, fishing, and boxing. After graduating from Chalmette High School, Bill spent two years serving honorably as a medic in the Army. After his service, Bill returned to New Orleans and his wife, Carol Ann Schultz. He worked for over fifty years at Bergeron Motors, managing the Parts Department. Bill and Carol had three children, Wilson Matthew Molero (deceased), Matthew Lyell Molero, and Alyssa Bentley Molero Landry. He was active as a little league football coach at Wentwood Playground for many years. After retiring, Bill spent his time reading, enjoying his family, and teaching his grandson Owen Patrick Landry to play chess. He was beloved by his family, supportive of his friends whom he viewed as extended family, and never missed an opportunity to make a bad joke.

Bill is survived by Carol, his wife of 53 years, his children Matthew and Alyssa, his grandson Owen, his sister Mary Anne Fraychineaud, his brother-in-law Courtney Charles Fraychineaud, his nephew Warren, and his niece Theresa and her family. The immediate family will have a small private service now and will raise a glass with extended family and friends when it’s safe for larger gatherings. In lieu of flowers, tell someone you care for that you love them, and then make them watch a John Wayne movie.
