Yvonne St. Romain Morise

Yvonne St. Romain Morise was called home on February 10, 2025, after 87 busy years. She was born on July 17, 1937 in Plaucheville, LA and lived in Metairie, LA for 57 years.

She is survived by her children, Kim Economides (Bobby), John Morise (Suzanne), Vance Morise (Susan), and Michelle Caluda (Ronny). She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as her many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecilia and Vance St. Romain, her husband, John Morise, son, Jeffrey Morise, and her brother, Aubrey St. Romain. She was also preceded in death by her companion Joe Shields, who brought her tremendous happiness in their time together.

Yvonne was truly devoted to her Catholic faith, even receiving the Order of St. Louis Award for her service to the church. She was an active member of the Cher Ami Club, Alter Society, and St. Vincent De Paul Society at St. Benilde Church. She also found so much joy in her favorite hobby, painting. Yvonne was a loving mother and grandmother, who would help anyone in need. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at St. Benilde Church, 1901 Division St. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 10 AM – 12 PM with a Mass to begin at 12 PM. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
