Alberto Vilar, generally known among his friends as Carioca, a pioneer of the radio, television and media industry in Cuba and Latin America passed away quietly at 95 years old on February 12, 2021. Alberto was born in Havana, Cuba in April 1925.
Alberto was known for his passion for family, friends, high energy, enthusiasm, and humor. He was predeceased by Sofia Arellano de Vilar his wife of 62 years in October of 2013. He is survived by his four daughters Cecilia and her husband Carlos de Mena, Ana and her husband Miguel Lluria, Lola and her husband Manuel Guara and Sofie and her husband Reed Frary and by three sons Alberto and his wife Georgette, Ernesto and his wife Julie and Frank and his wife Gina.
He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren
