Alonso J. del Portillo Tamargo, age 85, of Coral Gables, Florida passed peacefully at his residence on Friday, August 21, 2020. Alonso was born on October 20, 1934 in Havana, Cuba. He is survived by his loving wife; Zonia, and their children; Alonso R. del Portillo, Armando R. del Portillo (Angela Maria), Zonia Kesler (William), Alfredo R. del Portillo, Cristina Herrero (Raul) and Isabel Martinez (Raul); eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. He will be missed by all who knew him. A visitation for Alonso will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 6:00 PM to Midnight at Caballero Rivero Westchester Funeral Home, 8200 Bird Road, Miami, FL 33155. A Mass of "Christian Burial" will be celebrated for Alonso on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 11:30am at Church of The Little Flower, 2711 Indian Mound Trail, Coral Gables, FL 33174. Following the Mass, Alonso will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery, 11411 NW 25th Street., Doral, FL 33172.
