Betty Earle Swanson, 94, born in Coconut Grove, Florida flew home to God on November 14, 2018. She is survived by her two daughters, Holly Swanson and Sherrie Inman, her grandchildren, Chris Borras, Sandra Lawrence, Sean Fournier and Nicole Branham.
Betty spent her life devoted to family, friends and teaching children. She taught kindergarten for nineteen years at Riverside Baptist Church Kindergarten, assisted children and toddlers for their Sunday School until she was 72, was a Girl Scouts Leader and taught crafts to children at Michael’s until she was 91.
She loved to travel, camping with her family across the United States, including an epic road trip from Miami to Alaska. In later years she cruised with her sister to the Caribbean and with her daughter to Hawaii.
She was blessed with the gift of contentment, making the most of whatever she had, was given or experienced. She had a special insight into children and they flocked to her all her life.
She was a giver who always made time to assist her family, friends, neighbors and anyone in need. Her energy to do this seemed unbounded.
Her strong and constant faith in God was seen and shared in everything she did. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Her viewing is on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Caballero Woodlawn Funeral Home at 3344 SW 8 Street, Miami, Florida at 6:00 pm and services at 7:30 pm.
Donations in her honor may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
