Brian Lee Morrissey

It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Brian Morri Brian Morrissey October 9, 1940 to May 18, 2023

Brian was a very courageous Showman who was not afraid of change. He held many positions and traveled throughout the country, working with many amusement-related companies.

▪︎Managed Pioneer Park in Aurora, IL

• Handled and drove the hitch of the Westphalian Stallions from Meister Brau from the New York World's Fair

•Old Chicago Amusement Park in Bolingbrook, IL

▪︎Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, IL

▪︎Managed Bolo Island Amusement Park

▪︎Operated rides at the World's Fair in Knoxville, Tn

•Underwater Atlantis Park in Hollywood,Fl

•Managed the Bingo concessions for the Seminole Indian Tribe of Florida

Monkey Jungle in Miami

He booked many Shows and Circuses, including Zabelle Shows, Ken Detty’s Funtastic Midways, Baron Von Uhl's Wild Animal Circus, Hollingsworth Circus, and most recently worked hand in hand with Robert Briggs of Modern Midways for 25 years as General Agent, handling the Southern office for the show.

Brian was a lifelong friend of Frank Briggs, Robert's father Brian and Frank had many exciting shared experiences over the years, booking Evel Knievel, Jerry Lee Lewis, and many others at the Chicago Amphitheater.

Brian was a past President of the Miami Showmens Association. He served the US Army, was a long-time member of the Georgia Fair Association, and a Shrine Club Member, He was also a member for over 50-years of the Showmen's League of America.

Brian is survived by his wife Rita, and sons Mark, Brent, Robbie, and Cole Morrissey step Children Charles Baron, Andrew Baron, and Patricia Smart

Brian will be missed by the Briggs family, Modern Midways staff, crew, sponsors, and all that knew him.
