Byron Keith Parris, a skilled electrician, expert scuba diver and animal lover was born in Miami, Florida in 1957. He left this earth on October 17, 2013 after standing toe to toe with cancer. His parents James & Johnnie Parris and brothers William & Benet preceded him in death.
If you saw his mother, then you saw him at her side. Anyone who spent time at Miami Beach boat shows, the Seafood Festival in Marathon, boating in South Florida, scuba diving, spear fishing, swimming with dolphins, or turtle hunting shared his love of the ocean. Whether family was camping at Bahai Honda in the Keys, Outdoor Resorts, or vacationing at Fort Wilderness in Orlando, he was at the helm. He had two older brothers but standing 6'2” tall and 240 pounds he was the "big brother" at your side to face any adversary, to do all the heavy lifting, to move a sister, or to jump out in moving traffic to rescue an injured animal on I 95. Byron was our unsung hero and he will be sorely missed.
He is mourned by his best friend and soulmate, uncle, daughter, grandson, brother, four sisters, two brother in-laws, a sister-in-law, eight nephews, six nieces, four great nephews, two great nieces, two great-great nephews, a lifetime of cousins, a host of friends and customers who were blessed to know him.
Visitation with the family from 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Memorial Plan Kendall, 7355 S.W. 117th Ave., Miami, FL. Funeral Service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
