Carlos, a lifetime of shared memories ... not enough room to tell ‘em all!

Dear Ruiz Family, 

My heart breaks hearing that Carlos is passed. My entire childhood is filled with his presence.  Always easy to laugh, always leading us into new adventures,  all with incredible strength.   The world is never the same when a person like Carlos passes away.   Carlos - you were more than a brother to my father, you were his best friend. Our lives were all made better because of that friendship.  The best memories are the jokes and pranks that passed between the two of you.   That easy way that is felt between true friends.  And the years of our families being on the ocean and in the mountains together.  We love you and will cherish the time we all shared.  My prayers are with you Tere, Jacquie, Kathy, Alex and Carlos.

El destino nos separo cuando eramos tu un adolescente y yo  un niño.  Paso casi una vida para reencotrarnos  y me sorprendistes entonces con una hermosa familia, un humor exquisito y un cubania sin limites. Contigo pude recordar lugares y revivir personajes que son un privilegio de aquella epoca y tener la sensacion de que el tiempo pasado se reducia a una continuidad . La bodega de papa con  sus personajes pintorescos: Zacarias con su inseparable mulo negro e inteligente  y sus hermanos solterones, Rafael el modonquero, sus hijos gigantes (conocera alguien el sabor de una panza caliente con sal y limon en una manana de invierno ??), Felicita la santera y su esposo figurin de la ultima moda, Pablo Valle y su familia de la esquina inigualable, Reinaldo  ‘jabalina’, el artista del torno, los islenos que hacian y vendian cuanta cosa se puede comer, Vicente el lechero que descubrio la formula exacta de cuanta agua se le puede echar a la leche, su vecino el dulcero que hacia la pulpa de tamarindo mejor de este mundo, en fin, el Macondo que nos toco compartir.

 Carlitos:  You will always live in our Memories, Hearts and Feelings. Those wonderful Moments of Joy were much more  than many could experienced in their life time, and they will always be remembered as the most Extraordinary Moments that Cousins may have had together. "May God Bless Your Soul my Dear Primo Carlos".  For us for Shure you will always be Alive in our Hearts and Memories.

I have so many wonderful memories of my Tio Carlos..... He was funny, fun, adventurous, a good cook, full of stories, jokes and always made us laugh.  Every weekend he and my Dad would take us up into the woods or out into the ocean. Watching him and my Tia dancing, whether at a party or in the living room was mesmerizing and they appeared as one so gracefully. You are very loved and we will miss you terribly. Please give Abuela, Abuelo and Tia Isa un abrazo muy fuerte di mí... ❤️

Tio, There is no way to thank you for the amazing times and fun memories! Here is cuando mis hijos te dieron el nombre "Capitan Peekaboo"-2006

I am flooded with so many amazing memories of my Tio Carlos. He was funny, adventurous, full of stories, jokes, music and always easily brought a smile to my face.  He and my Tia were mesmerizing dancers - as if they were always meant to be partners. Tio Carlos you were very loved and you will be terribly missed.  Give Abuela, Abuelo and Tia Isa un beso y un abrazo muy fuerte de mi. 

We always carry wine and cheese in our Deer hunt no deer but Luisito we going to have a good time once I bought a puppy German Shorthair and Carlo idea to make it use to the sound of gun shot were 30.06 that pup took off up the hill behind his house in Woodstock New York that it took me the hold afternoon walking in the wood and calling until I found her I had great memories with him and Pacho and Jorge and he always  Jodiendo Dios me bendiga a mi amigo  Carlo y Pancho.
