It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Carmen Ivette Boschetti on September 12, 2025, in Miami, Florida.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Helvetio Boschetti Jr. and Virginia Arias, Carmen grew up in Puerto Rico alongside her beloved sister, Norma.
She had a deep love for painting, classical music, opera, and traveling with her family. A passionate genealogist, Carmen traced our Swiss-Italian roots to Arosio, near Lugano, and we were fortunate to visit our relatives in the Pre-Alps.
In 1983, Carmen moved to Miami, where she lived with Norma. In 1986, their parents joined them. Carmen devoted herself to her family, sharing her time and care between her own apartment and Norma’s home.
She studied at the University of Puerto Rico, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. After relocating to Miami, she began working as an ophthalmic assistant and continued her studies to become a Certified Ophthalmic Technician. Carmen dedicated twenty years of her career to the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute before retiring.
Carmen was joyful, kind, and sweet, and she was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sister, Norma Boschetti Barton; her brother-in-law, James M. Barton; her nephews, Andrew (Heather) and Alex Barton; grand-nephews Christopher and David Barton (sons of Alex); and grand-niece Rose and grand-nephew Maximilian Barton (daughter and son of Andrew).
Carmen will forever remain in our hearts and will never be forgotten.
She will be laid to rest at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Park South on September 18, 2025.
