Born September 27, 1945, in Havana Cuba Carmen Caridad Navarro was the daughter of Carmen Ponisco & Antonio Carlos Barcelo. She immigrated to Los Angeles, California at the age of 16 via The Catholic Church’s Peter Pan Program. She had a passion for family, cooking, Disney & puzzles.
Upon her arrival in the U. S., she took her education from The Edison school in Havana & combined it with some night school courses to begin working as a bookkeeper to gain her independence & bring her mother from Cuba. She married Guillermo Navarro at a young age & they proceeded to open their first business in California as well as owning many once they moved to Miami, Florida. She was known for her compassion, religious beliefs and loving heart.
She is survived by her daughters Carmen Garcia and Lisa Martinez and son Julio Navarro. Along with her 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Carmen’s Legacy will live on in her family and all those that knew her.
