Cecy is survived by her two children, four grandkids and four great-grandkids.
Cecy attended the Colegio Americano in Barranquilla where she earned a bachelor’s degree and later attended the prestigious Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia. She was part of the first female class graduating as Laboratory Technician in 1956.
Her family emigrated to the United States in 1957 looking for better opportunities. She married her beloved Noelito in Miami. They were together for 61 years until God called him just six months ago. They were an exemplary couple, loved to party and always enjoyed life to the fullest.
Once Cecy became a United States citizen, she began her professional career as a Medical Technologist at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Miami. Cecy’s career with the V.A. spanned a total of 25 years. Upon retirement, Cecy requested for her peers to continue caring for our Nation’s veterans.
Cecy was a pioneer in her field as she became one of the first women to enter into the Medical Technology field.
She was an exceptionally courageous woman, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. We will miss her greatly, but we take solace in the fact she is with her beloved Noelito.
The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 14th, 2022, from 10 to 11 am at Caballero Rivero Little Havana, 3344 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33135. Immediately after, the burial will take place at Graceland Memorial Park North, 4420 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33134.
