Chris was born on August 19, 1954, in Montego Bay, Jamaica. From a young age, he discovered his passion for tailoring—a craft he began honing in his teenage years. His talent and dedication led him to own and operate his own tailor shop in Jamaica. Over the years, his journey took him from Jamaica to Canada and the United States, where he continued to share his remarkable gift with all who knew him. Sewing was not just a skill, but his pride and joy. With an exceptional eye for detail and the rare ability to create garments from scratch, Chris left a lasting impression on many through his artistry.
He was a devoted father to Marlon Christopher Campbell, Nardia Christine Campbell, and his beloved son Damian Campbell, who predeceased him. Chris was a proud grandfather to Janoi Campbell, Christopher Jr. (CJ) Campbell, Jaheim Campbell, Kayla Campbell, and Hudson Campbell, and a cherished great-grandfather to Christante Kiari Campbell.
Chris will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Ann Marie, Neville, and Junior, and was predeceased by his siblings Trevor, Peggy, and Jean.
He also leaves behind a large extended family, including aunts and uncles Olive, Shirley, Lloyd, and Alvin; cousins Jeffrey, Norma, Elaine, Raphael, Merle, and many others; as well as nieces and nephews Crystal, Latoya, Norval, Jasmine, Azure Dee, Brittany, Bronte, Sauckay, and many more, along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
He will also be fondly remembered by a countless number of friends who will continue to honour his memory.
He is reunited in eternal rest with his parents, Linnet Smith and Maxie Wellesley Campbell, his stepmother Irene Hall-Campbell, as well as his son Damian and siblings Trevor, Peggy, and Jean.
Though Christopher’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved him, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.
His legacy of craftsmanship, resilience, and love will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m.
For family and friends who are unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed so that all may join in celebrating Chris’s life.
The family warmly invites you to join them for a repast following the service for lunch and a time of remembrance of Chris. The gathering will be held in the lobby lounge of the Aloft Miami Dadeland, located at 7600 North Kendall Drive, Miami, FL 33156. Complimentary parking is available for guests.
