Concepcion “Conchita” Castro, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Miami, Florida, at the age of 99. Born on February 9, 1926, in Havana, Cuba, Conchita’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and perseverance.
She was the devoted wife of the late Rafael Castro, sharing a lifetime of love, partnership, and family. Together, they built a home filled with love, warmth, and laughter. A passionate creative mind, Conchita dedicated her life to sharing her knowledge and creativity with those around her.
Conchita is survived by her three loving children—Alberto (Zenaidita), Roberto (Marina), and Vivian (Angel)—as well as her cherished grandchildren, Adrian (Shirley), Danika (Jordan), Marina (Jeff), and Michael (Jackie). She also leaves behind her treasured great-grandchildren: Aaron (Kaitlyn), Alessa, Connor, Oliver, Addison, and Alia, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy.
Known for her quick wit and vibrant spirit, Conchita loved to dance, especially to Caballo Viejo, play dominoes and immerse herself in puzzles and word searches, finding joy in both friendly competition and quiet reflection. Her home was always filled with the sound of shuffling tiles and laughter.
She will be remembered for her strength, her unwavering love for her family, and the wisdom she generously shared. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled and the many lives she touched.
