Dana Tipton Cavalcante

Jennifer “Dana” Tipton - Cavalcante, age 46, of Miami Beach Florida passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at home. Dana is survived by her loving husband Brenner and her son, Ethan Tipton Cavalcante; her grandmother Jesse Poole of Raleigh, her mother Linda Poole Ablecop of Bradenton; seven siblings Jeremy Tipton of Tampa, Jessica Ablecop of Bradenton, Rachel Cunningham of Charlotte, Tamara Tipton of Frederick, Brandon Tipton of Frederick, Derek Tipton of Tampa, Devin Tipton of Altamonte Springs, Lewis Harry of Vernon, and Alexander Harry of Southwick and all of her siblings-in-law, uncles, aunts, cousins and extended family members. She is also pre-deceased by her father James "Dennis" Tipton.

Dana was born in Jacksonville, NC at Camp Lejeune’s Naval Hospital and moved to Florida where she lived most of her life. Dana graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a major in Psychology and University of Miami with a Juris Doctorate. Being passionate about helping others, she became an immigration lawyer. She loved to host friends and was always so much fun to be around. It has been said ‘when Dana laughs she laughs with her whole face.’ Growing up, she volunteered every Thanksgiving serving others at the Salvation Army. This continued with her husband and son serving the homeless in Florida.

She and her family traveled to Brazil many times to visit her husband’s family. They also traveled to other countries to introduce their son to cultures outside of our own.

Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, December 26th from 7pm to 11pm at Caballero Rivero Little Havana Funeral Home . A religious services will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, December 27th at 1:30pm followed by the interment at Woodlawn Park North.
