Awesome teacher and human being. Will always remember him praising his beloved Cubs with me since I played baseball at Columbus and was a Marlins fan. Good memories.

Mr. Isenberg was by far my favorite teacher in Columbus, such a genuine kind hearted man that truly loved what he did. He will forever be in my memories as the kindest, most caring teacher I got the pleasure of meeting at Columbus. 

Mr. Isenberg was an incredible teacher and force of nature. He carried himself with immense presence in any room. He was a gem of a human being who brought a great deal of joy into many lives and truly led with compassion. 

He was a man of tremendous grit and focus to create the beautiful ideas he saw in his mind. In his lifelong quest to lead a life dedicated to art and teaching, he also helped others understand the beauty within themselves.

My condolences to the Isenburg family in this time of loss.



Thank you Mr. Isenberg for being the best art teacher I've ever had the honor of knowing. You helped encourage and inspire me and I'm sure many others to express our creativity and imagination through all sorts of positive and artistic mediums. I  am the parent of one of Mr. Isenberg's students, Jose Alvarez, class of 2007.  Mr. Isenberg was a wonderful influence on Jose.  He was a great teacher and leader.  He taught Jose to appreciate the world of art. Still today, we have drawings saved from Jose's days in  Mr. Isenberg's class and Jose continues to sketch and do other artistic endeavors in his free time.  Jose did not even mind much when Mr. Isenberg put him on detention for cursing in class one day as he knew Mr. Isenberg to be a fair teacher and task master.  It was a lesson well-learned! May Mr. Isenberg rest in peace and i shall keep his family in my prayers.

My son Kori and Mr. Isenberg had a special bond. Kori loved him as a teacher and as a friend. It's bitter sweet for us knowing that we lost another great one on earth but now Kori is reunited with him in heaven. 

Mr Isenberg was such a great man. He cared about the students inside and outside of the classroom like we were his kids. I attend the university his son went to so he would tell me to not go out to much and not get distracted by girls which would always make me laugh. What a great man he was , he will be missed.

David was a phenomenal teacher with an infectious personality. Eleven years have passed and I still have vivid memories of being excited to go to his class. His sense of humor, wittiness and passion for his students were unparalleled. He undoubtedly left a positive impact in my life. May he Rest In Peace. 

Mr. Isenberg brought immense joy to my brother and I during our time at CCHS. Going to art class was a calming escape, where we got to learn just as much about the the topic at hand as we did ourselves. He could bring a smile to anyone, and looked out for every member of the Columbus family. 

Mr. Isenberg taught me the importance of staying unique as an artist. The value of staying true to one's vision in this world. I will never forget the tools he gave me to grow as an artist. 

Coach, thanks for the memories and for helping me become the man I am today.  I learned how to have "grit" and develop my sense of personal responsibility through Columbus Wrestling.  May God bless your soul and your family always.

Dave Isenberg is truly one of the greatest men I know. To say that I’m lucky to have known him not only as my teacher but as a colleague is an understatement. Truly a legend and an inspiration in every way imaginable. His blend of humor, quick wit, comebacks, and self deprecation was one of a kind. I’m indebted to him and hope to one day have half the spirit, zeal, and enthusiasm with which he approached each day. Rest In Peace my friend. You will forever be in my heart. 🙏🏼

Don’t have a specific memory, but my interactions with Isenberg were memorable, I would always scream his name in the halls when I saw him, and he would follow with a different remark about my mullet or the lacrosse team. Every time I spoke with him he always seemed like he was interested in what I have to say, and remember every detail. Rest In Peace sir, you will always be in my memories as a Columbus legend

To the man who showed me the true beauty in art and taught me patience along the way. Rest in Peace Isenberg, you will be dearly missed. Our community lost a precious man, Heaven gained an angel. 

Prayers up for his wife and children.  What a great teacher and coach.  I didn't have the pleasure of calling him coach but I did have the blessing to be in his class. He is the essence of what a great teacher is because he balanced caring and toughness so perfectly to show us young men what a real godly man is. David was an important member of the wrestling team while attending North Miami Beach Senior High School.  He was dedicated to our success both on and off the mat.  David will be missed by all who knew and respected him. Rest in peace.
