Eduardo Zain Alonso, 66, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 28, 2021. He was born in Guatemala on September 7, 1954 and later moved to the United States as a young teen with his family. He served proudly in the US Army from 1976-1979. He then pursued his passion as an Avionics Technician after completing school at George T. Baker and obtaining his A&P license, in which later he retired.
Embracing retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife boating, fishing, going to the shooting range, and traveling. He also enjoyed time spent with his daughters and grandchildren, grilling, swimming, and joking around. Family was very important to Eddie and he enjoyed every opportunity he had with them. He lived life to the fullest.
Eddie was a loving husband of 42 years to his wife, Kathy and a devoted father to his three daughters: Tanya, Ashley and Kelly. As a man of faith, he saw to it that his family attended church every Sunday and knew the gospel. With a heart for the Lord, he shared the gospel with whomever he met.
Those left to cherish Eddie's memory include his three children: Tanya Clark and husband Cecil of Miami, Fl., Ashley Ardoin and husband Aaron from Chattanooga, TN, and Kelly Vazquez and husband Alexander of Orlando, Fl.; his three brothers: David Alonso of Columbia, MD, Orlando Alonso of Miami Springs, FL., Armando Alonso of Alexandria, VA., and one sister, Zenda Cochrane of Columbia MD.; eight grandchildren with one on the way.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents Armando and Lidia Alonso.
Service to celebrate Eddie’s life will be held September 7th at Cabellero Rivero Woodlawn Park South Cemetery and Funeral Home.
The viewing will be from 11:00AM- 3:00PM. The service will begin at 3:00Pm led by Rev. Otto Fernandez with burial to follow at 3:30PM.
