May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

How do i say good bye to the worlds greatest mother in law?? I am so truly blessed to have met you. God blessed me with you in more ways than i can count. But one way i will always be reminded of you is when i look into the eyes of the wonderful, gorgeous and strong woman you brought into this world to be my wife. Every time i see her i am reminded of you. She displays the values and strength you taught her on a daily basis. Thank you for her and for giving me a chance to know you and be with her. I will truly miss you and its just another proof to me that Jesus is real because only his promise, love and grace could help us recover from your departure. I will always love you, and your daughter and grand sons will be protected, loved and cared for. I promise.

That happy smile her jovial spirit and that New Yorker sarcasm and cockiness that was the character of Cookie was my favorite traits of her personality...we had some amazing laughs together and got in some trouble being mischievous..we shared many things in common and enjoyed our time with each other during many long nights of her difficult challenge. The unspoken truth was it was unplanned and never mentioned but my time spent with her served a purpose beyond being of physical support for her. I was prescribing my dose of silly laughter and a multitude of great memories to evade the ever present truth of her anguish. So the medicine was laughing giggling and playing practical jokes to laugh some more. I am grateful that however brief those moments were for her we were able to bond during the most trying times of her life. Her pain was also my pain she was not alone and I was always just a phone call away..Our time to bond was a time that was exclusive to us and our private moments shared were a healing not just for her but for me as well. Cookie was a very comforting soul and thankfully someone I could share the most personal experiences with and never feel judged just comforted by her always. I shall always treasure those moments with Cookie and love her very much. I know she has left our presence but I know she wont abandon me I shall feel her presence as that Angel to comfort me in my difficult days. May God enjoy her as much as I did my Halloween's will never be the same without her as she created my character Nino two fingers the gangster we laughed at so very much...Cookie may you rest in peace and no longer feel any pain I will continue to miss you until we meet again....Say hi to Mama for me God Bless you both...

Cookie my 3rd musketeer the little time i have shared with you will last me a life time of love and happiness. I know that we will be together again but til then i am gonna mourn the great loss of a good and dear Friend. Love you and see  you soon  Mayra

Cookie I would need an eternity to write on here all that I want to say. I thank god that you were a part of my life . We shared so many things in our years if friendship. "Take one Umbrella step....take two Baby steps'" Miss Mary Mack, playing Mash "when I grow up, I'll live in Hawaii, drive a Cadillac and live in a mansion....,"playing jacks, jump rope, your nana intertwined in your fingers as we relaxed for TV or chatting, learning my cheerleading steps, us two creating choreographed steps to your favorite song "Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel" by Tavares, taking mama's groceries to the room to play "store" and you, keka and I were the "shopping moms" and Pichi was the mailman dropping mail through the wooden slotted vent on the bedroom door, your presence at our school's basketball games when you cheered along with the cheerleaders knowing all of the cheers, us bike riding through the park by your house in Queens, those awesome late nights up talking and giggling about anything and everything, asking Mama for maizena or mini tacos, later in Florida, so many funny moments, at Castle Park in the race boats, waiting by their trams hearing "Check Your Belongings" enough to turn it into our personal joke, our young girl chatter, laughter, those funny rides through Tropical Park with Ana and the little Gorilla doll "Gonga" in the car, your Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies, fishing at the Keys, climbing the fence and ripping your jeans as we both made our way to the car to feast on quickie sandwiches, when your baby Bridget, the apple of your eye, wearing my childrenswear design samples with a paintbrush in hand painting all colors and shapes on my face while you and I shared a story and a giggle. Interesting that trying to hear your voice in my thoughts, I remember your tones, your whispers full of jokes that only we understood but I don't remember your voice crying for you found a way to muffle your pain through your ever unforgettable and distinctive giggles. Your memory will be of a beautiful girl, a true "people lover" who relished and experienced real joy by listening to other's stories, jokes and views. How you had your own aura and glow but always shared the light with all those around you. How you were the epitomy of strength, for what you endured, many would have succumbed to long before. You taught us all what inner strength was all about, how you cared for others and always reluctant to burden others with your concerns, your typical response "I'm alright!" You accepted the numerous challenges that life held before you, in a matter of fact manner, never turning the attention to yourself but rather numbing the pain by indulging and living vicariously through other's joys and experiences. Cookie, your greatest joys were your beautiful princess Bridget, your gorgeous grandchildren, your doting mother, sisters, nieces,nephews and friends. You will never leave as you will live on in the minds and hearts of all who had the honor of knowing you. God has called up the sweet and loving daughter to join her mom and dad, cease the suffering and forever watch over your baby Bridget and your grandchildren. May your soul rest in the divine peace that you so deserve and also watch over those who will keep you close in their hearts. Until one day, when the giggles resume, love you, Cookie.

This is Maggie Soto (Calderon) we were co-workers in Westchester and Pembrook Piines. I would like to say that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Cookie will always hold a special place in my heart.  I knew her for over 30 years, since I was a teenager.... she was the big sister that I never had. All I have are wonderful memories of Cookie, driving around Tropical park, hanging out at her house with her and Bridge,  "working" at AT&T,all the phone conversations and advice she gave me, Thanksgiving will never be the same without-"Happy Turkey day, Turkey!"... she always thought of everyone and I am just so greatful and honored that I was able to have her as a part of my life. I will miss her very much but I am confident that I will see her again one day...

When I think of Cookie, I see her smiling through it all. Her joyful spirit, her laugh, and the way she made you feel when you were with her is something that will be with me forever. Praying for strength and peace during this time.

My childhood friend, Cookie.  Distance never kept us far because we wrote, we spoke & remembered each other.  Will treasure how we would start talking about how we were doing now & always ended reminiscing about back the days.  Our love of music, food & friends.   What a life!  You were a ROCK with a heart so tender & loving.   My friend how I will miss our talks.  Thanks for sharing the joy of being a Grandma too.  To Bridgette,  Margie, Michael & Ingrid my sincere condolences & prayers of comfort for her loss.  May God continue to bless you for your love of her always. Thanks for inspiring me with your strength.  You're the most joyous person I knew and I hope that I could take a quarter of that happiness on my daily outlook on life.  I hope that I can continue making you proud.  Thanks for teaching me about honesty and the importance of appreciating the daily challenges and successes.
I'm going to miss talking about food and cooking shows and our reality show addiction.  I will think of you whenever Brandon and Jr do something funny and want to tell you.  Me and Oscar will miss you when we can't go visit you and watch TV together while you guys pick on me lol. Lo mejor del mundo es sentir un amor natural por la familia, aun cuando estemos lejos, cuando nos veamos poco en algunos casos prácticamente nunca, pero a pesar de ello la sangre, los genes, los antepasados nos permiten compartir ese vínculo especial que se activa en momentos como estos. Mis mejores recuerdos de las veces que compartí con Cookie, sonriente, bromista, alegre, amable, fuerte... mostrandome lo mejor de sí misma... Gracias a Dios, mi Señor, por haberme permitido estar allí. No te digo adiós, sino hasta luego primita, la distancia nunca nos separo, siempre estuvimos ahí; gracias a nuestras mamás que supieron unir nuestra vida en las distancia. Hoy ya te fuiste a un mundo mejor donde no habrá más dolor, vas a una casa no hecha de mano. Eterna en los cielos. Dear Bridget, I never knew your Mom but from two good friends on Facebook I've heard what a wonderful person your Mom was. I would have been proud to have called her my friend. Cookie I remember you always calling me mom and you would tell your little one that I was her grandma.The last time I saw you we met at the funeral of Horace Pope. I always wondered what happened to to because you were already ill.You became a special person in my life.And today I'm sorry we never kept in touch. I know your in a better place now. To my sister, Cookie, my heart is broken; you were my baby sister and my best friend.  Please know that I will carry you in my heart forever, and at every turn, and every day I will think of you.
