April 15, 1927 – June 11, 2023
Emma R. McCormack, age 96, of South Miami, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023. Emma was born April 15, 1927 in Cuba to Florentino Rollán and Esperanza de Cardenas.
Emma is survived by her son Ricardo J. McCormack; her daughter Alicia McCormack Malavé; her son-in-law Adolfo J. Malavé; her grandchildren:
Nicole Boss (Brian Boss), Vincent McCormack, Andres Malavé (Ashley Malavé), Andrea Malavé, Alexandra Malavé and her great grandchildren: Kennedy Boss and Wesley Boss.
Emma was a dedicated wife, mother, and philanthropist. Her family, immediate and extended, were her priority; however, she loved her work with the Ladies Auxiliary of Centro Hispano Catolico where hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised to help the Cuban exile community since the 1960’s. She was a former president and the treasurer for Centro Hispano Catolico Child Development Center run by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami and when its aging members could no longer carry out the work of the auxiliary, the balance of their funds were transferred so that their work would be carried on. A wonderful example to her family of how to live your faith by giving of your time, talents and treasure.
A visitation for Emma will be held Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Caballero Rivero Little Havana, 3344 SW 8th Street, Miami, Fl 33135. Her funeral mass will occur Thursday, June 22,2023 at 11:30 AM at St. Raymond Catholic Church at 3475 SW 17th Street, Miami, Fl 33145. Following her mass, her burial will take place on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery, 11411 NW 25th Street, Miami, Fl 33172.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami // Centro Hispano Católico
