Evelyn D Murphy

Evelyn Doris Murphy, aged 81, went home peacefully on July 25, 2017. Evelyn was born on January 10, 1936, in New York City, New York, the daughter of Luis Alfonso and Luz Maria Chico. She is survived by her daughter, Ana Yaffey (Robert) of Port Saint Lucie, FL; grandsons, David Deckers of Bremerton, WA, Shane Murphy of Fair Lawn, NJ, Dalton Peterson of Port Saint Lucie, FL and Justin Yaffey of Port Saint Lucie, FL. Evelyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Murphy and son, Denis Murphy. Evelyn graduated from City College of New York and went on to a career in international trade until retiring in 2001. She enjoyed traveling and was very active with the Catholic Church. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her family, her weekly mahjong and poker games with friends and welcoming new members into the Port Saint Lucie community with the Newcomers Club. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn South in Kendall, FL with a service at St. John Neumann on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
